KABAT was founded in 1983 by brothers Andrzej and Tadeusz Kabat. Initially, the company was merely a small tyre and inner tube repair workshop not exceeding 21 square metres. In 1985, it commenced its operations and provided tyre retreading services for passenger cars. Two years later, a new workshop (covering an area of 400 square metres) was established, and the company began to produce rubber products. The company first manufactured rim tapes for truck tyre inner tubes. Subsequently, it ventured into mudguards, car spoilers, and floor mats. The KOOPERACJA fair held in Poznań in 1987 was the company's first fair, and since then, it has regularly participated in numerous other fairs in Poland and abroad. This enabled it to gain significant knowledge, new experiences, and the trust of its users.
In 1989, it launched the production of what would become its flagship product: inner tubes. Those for car tyres were, in fact, the first to leave the company's production lines. Over time, the range expanded to include agricultural machinery, motorcycles, bicycles, and trucks.
In 1990, the company continued to develop its activities and took a new step by creating a rubber compound production plant covering an area of 420 m2. The compound is then produced on two rolling mills, so the company does not need to rely on the delivery of the necessary compound to produce rubber products. However, the strong growth in sales of inner tubes and rubber products led to a decrease in the efficiency of the two operating plants.
In 1994, a decisive year for KABAT, the construction of a new plant covering an area of 12.8 hectares was launched in the suburbs of Budzyń, and production activities (mixed rubber manufacturing) began a year later. Finally, in 1997, the entire company moved to a new office space (now occupying 8,300 square metres).
Between 2000 and 2002, the laboratories and warehouses for finished products and raw materials were expanded. The second year, the plant made another improvement: the mixer used to produce rubber compounds was replaced, thus increasing the production capacity by 50%. Subsequently, other investments were made: deployment of integrated systems in accordance with different standards (EN ISO 9001: 2000, EN 14001: 2004, and PN-N-18001: 2004) and selection of audit companies. The preparatory work began in 2004 (the final examination is scheduled for the second quarter of 2006). The company also committed to improving the quality of its services by investing in rubber recycling since 2005.
All these measures enable the company to comply with European standards, maintain a consistently high level of service, and ensure customer satisfaction.
KABAT now has 900 employees, making it one of the largest employers in the region. Whether in production, sales, or business management, experts are carefully selected.
In just a few years, Kabat (like many other well-known companies around the world, including IT magnates) has evolved from a small workshop to a large-scale production plant, and it operates efficiently in sustainable development. It covers a total area of 3.5 hectares, with 30,000 square metres dedicated to production facilities, warehouses, and administrative offices.
Today, it sells its products in more than 90 countries/regions in Europe, Africa, Asia, South America, and North America.
