Asian manufacturers use the same manufacturing processes as others, and often the same machines. It's very common to find state-of-the-art European infrastructure in Chinese factories.
These factories are enormous and capable of producing tens of millions of tyres per year, as you can see with the classification below, established by the China Rubber Industry Association:
1/ Zhongce Rubber Group Co., Ltd. :
The manufacturer behind the Westlake, Chaoyang, Arisun, Goodride, and Trazano brands. They have a 4.5-billion-dollar turnover, and their tyres are sold by more than 10,000 companies in 120 countries.
2/ Giti Tire (China) Investment Co., Ltd. :
The manufacturer of Giti tyres, 70,000 points of sale in more than 130 countries, more than 3.5 billion dollars in sales. General Motors has established a long-term partnership with Giti.
3/ Sailun Jinyu Group Co., Ltd. :
The result of a merger between Sailun and Jinyu tyre manufacturers. This group manufactures more than 35 million automobile tyres, holds 140 technology patents, 70 conformity certificates worldwide, and sells in more than 80 countries.
4/ Shandong Ling long Tire Co., Ltd. :
Manufacturer of Ling Long tyres. The factory produces 14.5 million tyres. Their tyres are sold all over the world.
5/ Zhengxin Rubber (China) Co., Ltd. :
A manufacturer specialised in industrial tyres.
6/ Double star Group Co., Ltd. :
Manufacturer of Double Star tyres and 45% owner of the Kumho company. The Double Star Group is a century-old company with very modern factories that has won many awards in China: 'Brand Cultivation', 'Technology Innovation', 'Quality Benchmark', 'Intelligent Manufacturing', 'Green Manufacturing' and 'Service Transformation'.
7/ Triangle Tire Co., Ltd. :
The manufacturer of Triangle tyres, founded in 2001, is a global success with 22 million tyres produced per year. Their factories are at the forefront of technology, and their tyres are certified by all the global quality control standards: CCC, ECE, DOT, E-SOUND, INMETRO, LATU, GSO, SNI... Sold in over 60 countries.
8/ Xing yuan Tire Group Co., Ltd. :
Their tyres are not sold in Europe.
9/ Michelin (China) Investment Co., Ltd. :
Michelin is a French-based manufacturer, but is included in this ranking because it has a subsidiary that is very active in China.
10/ Double Coin Holdings Ltd. :
Double Coin specialises in HGV, 4x4, and industrial tyres. The brand is distributed throughout Europe and has a strong reputation.
11/ Aeolus Tire Co., Ltd. :
Tyre manufacturer Aeolus was founded in 1965 and is one of the top 20 manufacturers in the world. They produce more than 5.5 million tyres every year. Active on the European market since 2002, Aeolus brings together all its know-how to offer high-quality tyres to the most demanding consumers.
12/ Pirelli Tyre S.p.A. :
The Italian manufacturer is active in China.
13/ Prinx Chengshan (Shandong) Tire Co. Ltd. :
The manufacturer of Chengshan tyres was founded in 1976 and sells throughout Europe. The brand boasts many certifications: CCC, ISO9001/16949, INMETRO, DOT...
14/ Sheng tai Group Co. Ltd. :
The manufacturer has been producing Three-A tyres since 2002. Production exceeds six million tyres per year, and the tyres have all the necessary quality control certificates. They are sold all over Europe and the world.
15/ Guizhou Tyre Co., Ltd. :
Manufacturer of ADVANCE tyres, mainly known in the HGV sector.
Chinese manufacturers have the capital, engineers, and know-how to produce large numbers of quality tyres at unbeatable prices. Consumers are taking note, and orders for Asian tyres are increasing year after year.
