With safety in mind, pull over and use a hazard triangle to warn other drivers of your presence.
- Apply your hand brake.
- Put your car into gear to lock the wheels.
- Loosen the nuts with your wrench without unscrewing them completely.
- Set up the jack to lift your car.
- Unscrew the nuts.
- Remove the wheel. If you can't get it off, you can hit it with your spare. It often takes a few blows to remove a wheel that's stuck.
- Don't be scared.
- Put your spare tyre in place.
- Re-tighten the nuts.
- Bring the vehicle back down to the ground.
- Tighten all your nuts one last time.
