The Hankook Smart Line DL50 tyre features several innovations for the drive axle. Compared to its predecessor, the DL20w, it offers a 15% reduction in rolling resistance and a 10% improvement in wet grip.
- The tread patterns, including 3D-printed sipes, hidden grooves, and self-regenerating sipes, help maintain a cooler tread, which improves wet grip and traction, while increasing longevity and reducing rolling resistance.
- Wider tread blocks ensure solid contact with the road, thus increasing tread rigidity and reducing heat.
- New tread features emerge as the tyre wears, maintaining a cool tread, optimal wet grip, and traction, thereby maximising longevity and grip while minimising rolling resistance.
A key feature of the SmartLine range is its advanced compound technology. A dual carbon-silica loading system improves the homogeneity of the rubber mix, increasing energy efficiency. Additionally, the tyre generates much less heat thanks to Hankook's innovative mixing system (IMS) and the rigidity of the tread blocks due to interconnected 3D sipes.
The Stiffness Control Contour Technology (SCCT) ensures uniform tread deformation, counteracting uneven wear through targeted load distribution.
