Description

The iLine 185/70 R14 88T from Nokian won the prize for the best summer tyre in 2013 in Germany in a competition organised by car magazines Auto Test and Auto Bild. Pros: it adapts to all climates, while maintaining unbeatable grip and giving you an incomparably comfortable drive. The low fuel consumption and low noise level make this tyre a must-have product.

SMOOTHED MAIN GROOVES

If the longitudinal grooves of the tire are smoothed out, it's not just a matter of aesthetics. They allow water to be evacuated very quickly, thus enabling more water to be received from the secondary grooves located on the ribs, whose open mouth has been optimized to achieve a higher volume and effectively prevent the risk of aquaplaning.

PURIFIED OILS

Low aromatic content purified oils are making their debut in the tyre industry thanks to Nokian Tyres, a pioneer in the field of ecology. The manufacturing of a Nokian tyre does not involve the addition of any toxic or carcinogenic chemical compounds. The use of purified oils does not detract from the tyre's safety qualities, such as grip on wet ground, regardless of the weather conditions.

VENTURI GROOVES

The deep flared grooves placed between the shoulder blocks efficiently channel water away from the tyre and the ground, especially at the point of constriction.

TREAD WEAR AND AQUAPLANING INDICATOR

The wear indicator (DSI) allows one to voluntarily check the condition of their tyre by simply measuring the depth of the grooves. The tread features a row of numbers that gradually fade as the tyre rubber wears down, thus indicating the remaining rubber thickness.
The tyre's central block includes another indicator, which warns of increased aquaplaning risks. The disappearance of the drop from this aquaplaning indicator signals when the remaining groove depth falls below 4mm.

INFO ZONE

The location and pressure indicators present in the Info area on the side of a tyre allow for the recording of important constants for safety. Correct inflation pressure and location during mounting are now joined by the torque of the bolts on alloy rims. From a safety perspective, it is indeed crucial to know the correct torque as well as to retighten them after 100 to 200 kilometres.

For a price of 300€ or even for 240€, they are worth that money, I had iLine and the tires are soft so they hold the road very well, and if it rains, then especially praise! They have diagonal lines so they are quiet, and I think they are quite economical! I think the only weakness would be poor grip on ice and especially on snow! This is because of the diagonal lines, and that's why they grip less on snow and ice :-( But you don't have to fear rain and aquaplaning, because they have deep diagonal lines, so I think they are made for Dalmatia and other places along the sea where there is never snow, only strong rain !!
