Description

The Ultra Grip 8 205/55 R16 91H tyre ensures a comfortable and quiet drive for passenger cars in the winter. 3D Bis technology guarantees short braking distances and improves traction on snow. It offers excellent roadholding performance, even when the tyre is wearing out, thanks to new V-shaped tread patterns.

VERY GOOD RESISTANCE TO AQUAPLANING

The risk of aquaplaning on wet or snowy roads is reduced by the presence of large grooves on the tread pattern, for a rapid ejection of water and melted snow.

Improvement of Road Handling

With Goodyear's 3D BIS® technology, the focus is on optimizing winter road handling. Regardless of the conditions, whether on dry, wet, icy, or snowy roads, the ground connection is significantly improved, leading to enhanced control on slippery surfaces. The UltraGrip 8 model, with its new V-shaped pattern, exhibits these superior road handling characteristics and maintains them despite wear over time.

Shorter braking distances on snow

Goodyear's 3D-BIS® system interlocks the rubber blocks to reduce braking distances on snow. Compared to all competing winter tyres, this technology allows for an average braking distance reduction of one meter. Furthermore, compared to the average of the two leading market tyres, it enables the UltraGrip 8 to achieve 3% shorter stopping distances, considering that the snow braking distances are calculated from 50 to 5km/h.

Improved grip in winter

The tread is designed with a special winter rubber mix that provides excellent grip even when temperatures drop below 7 °C, regardless of driving conditions. Moreover, this rubber compound enhances the model's longevity.

Excellent choice fitted on a Berlingo Kombi, I made the right decision. I was able to test them in Auvergne around 10 December 2024 over several days after heavy snowfall, accumulating 40 cm. Not on the road, fortunately, due to snow clearance, nothing to complain about.
