Developed to tackle the demanding winters of Central Europe, the Nokian Snowproof 3P combines safety, precision and driving comfort. It is designed to remain effective on snow-covered, wet or dry roads when temperatures drop. Its new tread pattern, advanced rubber compound and reinforced carcass have been designed to deliver stability, durability and control in the harshest winter conditions.
The Alpine Performance 3.0 concept is based on a tread pattern divided into three zones to improve grip and handling. The Arctic section features two types of self-locking 3D sipes, designed to enhance stability, traction and braking on dry, wet or snow-covered roads. The Aqua zone uses blade-shaped grooves to reduce the risk of aquaplaning and improve braking on wet surfaces. For its part, the Performance zone supports directional stability in straight lines and through bends, while delivering more precise steering and clearer feedback.
The Alpine Grip compound helps the Snowproof 3P maintain a strong level of performance in winter use, without neglecting efficiency on dry or wet roads when the weather becomes milder. It also helps lower rolling resistance, promoting more efficient driving and reduced emissions.
The tyre also features a structure incorporating the Power Lock Core. This includes performance beads designed to improve stability and road holding during load transfers or sudden manoeuvres. This architecture helps maintain vehicle control at high speeds and meets the expectations of drivers seeking precise winter handling.
The Nokian Tyres Snowproof 3P has undergone a comprehensive testing programme, carried out both in controlled environments and in real-world conditions. The winter evaluations took place in Ivalo, Finnish Lapland. Wet-surface and high-speed tests, meanwhile, were conducted at the Hakka Ring circuit in Spain as well as at the Nokian Tyres test centre in Finland.
